The 901 North Pine building was designed by the Savannah architect Hyman C. Whitcover and is on the National Register. Superior Court and the Clerk of Superior Court sit at 700 North Pine, which the county calls the Judicial Complex, and the county's Courts Division secures both buildings. Foreclosure notices publish in The Effingham Herald. Springfield is the county seat but Rincon is the largest city.
